Sprint Training Machine (K-9551)
The first type of Sprint Training Machine (K-9551) was developed in 1995. It took 3 years to complete the machine. The innovation was started from the idea to develop a new type of training machine which improve the running technique of Japanese runners. In the time of 1991, the running technique of Japanese runners is so different of that of the runners of world class. On the occasion of the 3rd world championship of athletics was held in Tokyo in 1991, the Biomechanics research team of JAAF (Japan Association of Athletics Federation) was organized and analyzed the running technique of Curl Lewis and other world class athletes. The Sprint Training Machine was developed based on the Biomechanical research results that the top runners move the whole legs in high speed using inner muscles of pelvis.
The records of 100m run were improved greatly for university runners after the training using the Sprint Training Machine. The class named ‘Seminar of run fast 100m’ was carried out using this machine at The University of Tokyo, Komaba-Campus.
