体幹捻りマシン Trunk Twist Machine

体幹をひねる動作は、体の柔軟性を高める上でも非常に重要です。体幹をひねる動作は、ゴルフや野球のバッティングを始め、ほとんどのスポーツ動作で重要な役割をしています。両足を地面につけた立位姿勢から体をひねる場合には、どうしても上体だけをひねる動作になりがちです。
水を含んだ雑巾を絞る場合には、両端を持って逆方向にひねることで、しっかり水を絞り切ることができます。片方の端だけを絞ってもうまくいきません。体幹ひねりマシンは、雑巾絞りの原理を利用して、両足で立っている台座と両手で握っている取っ手が互いに逆方向に回転する構造になっています。
上半身が右回りに回転した時、下半身は左回りに回転する方向で、体幹の深部にまでひねり効果が行き渡ります。さらに、新型のマシンでは、右足と左足をのせる部分が、独立した回転テーブルになっています。この足部の回転テーブルによって、脚の内旋・外旋動作が可能になります。体幹ひねりマシンでは、体幹部をひねる動作だけでなく、脚部を内旋・外旋させる股関節の動作を含めたきわめて複雑なひねり動作を作り出すことができます。さらに、ひねり動作の終盤で体の伸び動作を加えると、「ひねり伸ばし効果」が得られることになります。スポーツ選手や一般の健康づくり思考の方々にもこの「体幹ひねりマシン」は、奥が深いという事で、大いに気に入られています。
Trunk Twist Machine
The motion of twist the trunk is very important to improve the flexibility of a body.
The motion of twist the trunk has an important role in many sport evens, like the swing of golf, the stroke of tennis, the batting of baseball and so forth.
In the case of the twist motion in the standing position on the ground, it trend to twist only upper part of the body.
For instance, when the wet cloth is wrung with hands, both edges of the cloth are held and twisted to the opposite direction. If only one part of the cloth was twisted, the water would be remained in the cloth.
The trunk twist machine was developed on the principle of the twist of wet cloth.
The machine is composed of three components as follows: ①a revolving platform, ②a revolving handrail, and ③three revolving disk-shaped foot stands. In the structure, a revolving platform and a revolving handrail turn to opposite direction each other. Three revolving disk-shaped foot stands are settled on a revolving platform apart from each other.  

A person standing on the foot stands of a revolving platform holds a handrail with both hands. When a person turns the handrail to the right, the platform turns to the left. In this case, the upper part of a body is twisted to the right and the lower part of the body is twisted to the left.  The twist motion of the body is effective to stretch and activate the inner part of the trunk.
In addition, the legs can be turned to inner and outer direction on the revolving disk-shaped foot stands. Therefore, the machine can produce the complex twist motion include arm, trunk, legs and hip joint.  

In the last stage of twist motion, the stretch motion of a whole body with straight back is effective to get the twist-stretch effects. The trunk twist machine has been favored by athletes and general persons of health promotion idea, as the machine of a deep and profound meaning.

両足をのせた台座と両手で握った取っ手がお互いに逆方向に回転することによって、体幹の深部にまでひねり効果が生じる。台座と取っ手は逆方向に正面位置から120度左右方向に回転するので、台座に乗った人が正面から取っ手を120度回転させると、台座は逆方向に120度回転するので、身体は240度ひねられることになる。

A person stands on the platform and grasps the handrail with both hands.
The handrail is able to turn 120 degree each from the front position to the right and the left. Therefore, the handrail is able to turn 240 degree in total. The platform is also able to turn 240 degree in synchronized with the motion of handrail, but the direction of turn is opposite to that of handrail. When a person on the platform turns the handrail 120 degree to the right, the platform turns 120 degree to the left with the movement of platform.  Therefore, the body is twisted 240 degree on the platform.The wide range of the angle for turn makes it possible to twist the deep part of the trunk effectively.

両足をのせる台座には、さらに小さな回転テーブルが取り付けられている。
回転テーブルは、3つ取り付けられているが、このうちの2つに右足と左足をそれぞれ乗せて、内股方向(内旋)や外股方向(外旋)に回転させることができる。脚の内旋・外旋動作は、スポーツでは非常に重要な動作であるが、あまり意識されることがない。しかし、脚の内旋や外旋動作を加えた体幹ひねり動作を行うと、その重要性を自覚することができる。
Trunk Twist Machine 2
Three small turn tables are settled on the platform and two of three are used to put on the right foot and the left foot separately. The legs are turned to the inner position as the toe turns to inside and on the other hand the legs are turned to the outer position as the toe turns to outside on the turn table. The motion to make the inner position and the outer position of the foot is very important, but it is not conscious for many people. The importance of the motion of turning legs and feet with trunk would be recognized in the training of the trunk twist machine.

十分に体幹のひねった状態でポージング(動きを止めた姿勢をとること)して、さらに背伸びをする要領で体を伸ばすと、「ひねり伸ばし効果」が増大する。「ひねり伸ばし効果」は、普段味わうことが少ない「気持ちの良い感覚」を身体に生じさせる。スポーツの基本動作にもぜひ取り入れたい動作の一つである。

Combination of twist and stretch motion produces a comfortable feeling in a whole body.
The comfortable feeling which is not experienced in the ordinary life is produced from the following process. First step is to make a static pose that the trunk was twisted in one’s maximum range and in the second step the whole body is stretched to the upward-diagonal direction with the twisted trunk, legs and arms together. It is ideal that the combined pose of twist and stretch is continued for several seconds. The combined motion of twist and stretch of a whole body is desirable taken in the training of sports.

体幹ひねりマシンは、立位動作ばかりでなく、中腰の姿勢でのひねり動作や、両膝をつけた「座り技」の要領で行う体幹ひねり動作など、武道、舞踊、芸能などいろいろな場面でのひねり動作を身につける上でも効果的である。また、捻り動作の左右バランス整えることにも有効である。

The trunk twist machine is able to use in various posture as a standing posture, a half sitting-standing posture with knees flexed, and a posture of both knees on the turn tables. The motion of twist a body in a half sitting-standing posture is necessary in the technique of martial arts, dance and various art of entertainment. The trunk twist machine is effective to make a balanced twist motion to the right and the left side of a body.
